Toxic Warning Action at European Commission in Brussels (GP0STO22P)
Page

The introduction and cultivation of new GM (genetically modified) crops in Europe could increase herbicide use by up to 15 times, warns an agricultural forecast commissioned by Greenpeace and presented in Brussels.
Greenpeace activists together with two US farmers protest at the European Commission headquarters to deliver a "toxic warning". The US farmers have traveled to Europe to warn farmers against a fate similar to their own. Farmers using genetically engineered herbicide tolerant crops in USA have suffered as they see a rapid growth of ‘super-weeds’, steadily increasing seed prices and need increased applications of ever more toxic herbicides.
