Contaminated village of Tsushima
Radiation dose rate: 5.3 microsievert an hour / 66 times above normal. The normal rate before the Fukushima nuclear disaster was 0.08 microsieverts an hour. An empty road curves into the deserted streets of Tsushima Village, a short distance from the exclusion zone surrounding the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. For three days following the triple meltdown at the plant, wind carried large amounts of radiation directly towards Namie, exposing its citizens and the environment to high levels of contamination.
