Barbie Mattel Action in Amsterdam
Greenpeace activists dressed as "Barbie" and "Ken" pose with pink chainsaws to hand out campaign leaflets to the public. The action follows revelations that the packaging for Mattel's "Barbie" doll, the most famous toy in the world, is produced using pulp from the rainforests of Indonesia, home to endangered species such as the Sumatran tiger and orangutans.

Greenpeace actievoerders verkleed als Barbies en Ken's poseren met roze kettingzagen en delen flyers uit aan het publiek. De actie is gericht tegen Mattel omdat dit bedrijf Barbie-artikelen verpakt in karton gemaakt van pulp van bomen uit het regenwoud van Indonesie. Dit regenwoud is het leefgebied voor bedreigde diersoorten zoals de Sumatraanse tijger en de orang oetang.
