Dam Building on Peatland Canals
Greenpeace activists and local volunteers attempt to halt drainage of the peatlands by palm oil companies in this area by constructing dams on the peatland canals. The dam building is part of a Greenpeace ‘save our forest, save our climate’ campaign.

The Rainbow Warrior is in Indonesia as part of the 'Road to Bali' in the lead up to the UN Conference on Climate Change. The Forest Defenders Camp opened here on the 9th October as part of a Greenpeace campaign to stop forest and peatland destruction caused in part by oil palm plantations.
