Radiation Test in Fukushima Playgrounds
Children walk along a road which had earlier been assessed for radioactive contamination by Greenpeace who found it to hold high, unsafe levels of contamination.
A Greenpeace team undertake radiation contamination monitoring tests and place small notification boards bearing the radiation readings (measured in micro Sieverts per hour) outside a small Kendo sports training school. The city of Fukushima has been contaminated by the radioactive fallout from the ongoing crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Within Fukushima city the local authorities are now undertaking a clean up operation of soil from school and nursery school playgrounds.
