Radiation Test in Fukushima Playgrounds
A Greenpeace team led by Jan Beranek (wearing a white Tyvek safety suit and holding gamma spectrometer), undertake radiation contamination monitoring tests and collect a sample of radioactive soil, in Shichi public park in Fukushima City. The city has been contaminated by radioactive fallout from the ongoing crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Within Fukushima city the local authorities are now undertaking a clean up operation of soil from school and nursery school playgrounds.
