Radiation Test in Fukushima Playgrounds
A Greenpeace team, led by Jan Beranek undertake radiation contamination monitoring tests and place small notification boards bearing the radiation readings (measured in micro Sieverts per hour) on a road used by children between Watari Junior High School and Soramame children's nursery. The city of Fukushima has been contaminated by radioactive fallout from the ongoing crisis at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant. Within Fukushima city the local authorities are now undertaking a clean up operation of soil from school and nursery school playgrounds.
