Burning Oil from Oil Rig Disaster
The Q4000 multi-purpose oil field intervention vessel (right), burns off material from the Deepwater Horizon wellhead near the disaster site. The support ship the Steven Tyler sprays water on the pipe from the Q4000 as flames shoot out. The BP leased oil Deepwater Horizon platform exploded on April 20 and sank after burning.

The BP (British Petroleum) leased oil platform Deepwater Horizon exploded on April 20 and sank after burning, leaking an estimate of more than 210,000 gallons of crude oil per day from the broken pipeline to the sea. Eleven workers died during the disaster.
