Greenpeace activists protest at three The North Face stores in Shatin, Kowloon Tong and Sheung Wan, and two Mammut stores in Hong Kong, urging the outdoor brands to phase out PFCs (poly- and per-fluorinated compounds) from their weatherproof products. A Greenpeace report reveals that hazardous and persistent chemicals, dangerous to human health and the environment, have been found in the products of leading outdoor brands, including The North Face and Mammut. The companies continue to use PFCs to make their gear waterproof, despite their claims of sustainability and love for nature.
