Images show Formosa region of Rio Preto, in the west of Bahia, where the Agribusiness "Condomínio Cachoeira do Estrondo" claims to occupy 305 thousand hectares. The National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA) states, however, that the property was founded from land grabbing.
More than a third of the land has been deforested since 2000 to grow soy, cotton and corn. The enterprise is involved in environmental illegalities and human rights violations, practicing intimidation and violence against the communities of people living in the area. The Agribusiness Estrondo contracted a security company that uses watchtowers, fences, trenches and armed guards to prevent free access of community residents.

O Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária (Incra) afirma, no entanto, que a propriedade foi fundada a partir de grilagem de terras. Mais de um terço da terra da propriedade foi desmatada desde 2000 para cultivar soja, algodão e milho. O empreendimento está envolvido com ilegalidades ambientais e violações de direitos humanos, praticando intimidação e violência contra as comunidades de geraizeiros que vivem no local. O Agronegócio Estrondo contratou uma companhia de segurança que usa guaritas, cercas, trincheiras e guardas armados para impedir o livre acesso dos moradores da comunidade.
