Shoot: Break Free Activity at Coal Mine in Colombia - Video
GP0STQN7V
Greenpeace, along with farmers from the community of Pisba, stage a protest in Páramo de Pisba, Colombia, calling for the cessation of mining in this delicate ecosystem. The groups occupy a coal mine pit head and display the model of a clock and a banner with the text “Mining-free moors: time is running out”.
The activity is part of the global movement called Break Free, which seeks to speed the shift to an era of renewable energies, leaving behind dirty energy production from fossil fuels, such as coal and oil. This action in Colombia is one of more than 300 ‘Break Free’ events that are taking place this month across all of the world’s six continents.
