Over 800 youth and volunteers join the 'Mini Marathon - Run for Clean Air' event organised by Greenpeace Southeast Asia which kicks off from Chiang Mai 700th Anniversary Stadium Sport Complex, to raise awareness on the growing air pollution problem in Thailand, threatening public health. The air pollution mainly derives from the transportation sector and fossil fuel industries.
Greenpeace is calling on the Pollution Control Department to include PM2.5 (particulate matter) in Thailand Air Quality Index.
