Shoot: Toxics Action against Goodrich Chlorine Plant in Groningen the Netherlands

GP01OCS
Greenpeace activists climb the Martinitoren in Groningen as protest against the arrival of the new chlorine plant BF Goodrich. They hang a banner reading 'Stop chloorfabriek aan 't Wad Nu', which translates to English as 'Stop chlorine plant at the Wad Now'. With this banner they also welcome the new Royal Commissioner Hans Alders, who is installed the same day. Greenpeace and the Waddenvereniging urge Alders not to grant a permit to this new polluter. The American company BF Goodrich is planning to build aan CPVC factory in Delfzijl. CPVC is a chlorous synthetic, that arises by bringing PVC-powder into contact again with chlorine gas. During the production a cocktail of toxic chlorines is dumped in the Wadden Sea.
