Greenpeace surprised owner of coal fired power plant Hemwegcentrale, UNA with a windmill. The windmill was offered to UNA by Greenpeace to pay for the costs of cleaning the chimney of the power plant that Greenpeace had painted a slogan on the year before. UNA demanded money for the cleaning costs of removing the slogan "Stop CO2" on the power plant. By paying for this with a windmill, Greenpeace is showing exactly where the problem lies; not in cleaning chimneys, but in clean energy. UNA refused to accept the windmill. P. Witvliet, director of General Affairs of UNA said: "We can't accept this, maybe later they will show up with ten old cars as an offer!"
The windmill could have lasted 20 years and make a profit of 80.000 guilders. Greenpeace returned the mill to the supplier and paid for the damage claim.
