'Act for Arctic' Ice Ride in Hannover

Ice Ride day of action in Germany. In 31 cities in Germany people are riding bikes to support the Arctic. As the Arctic sea ice reaches another historic low, thousands of people across the globe take to the streets to join in the Ice Ride, an arctic themed bicycle parade to celebrate the Arctic and to manifest the diverse and global demand for its protection as an Arctic Sanctuary. Rising global temperatures and the race for oil makes the Arctic one of the key battlegrounds of climate protection. In just two years, close to six million people have joined a global movement demanding the creation of an Arctic Sanctuary at the top of the world and a ban on offshore oil drilling and destructive fisheries in the entire Arctic Ocean.
