‘Two Months of Injustice’ Global Day of Solidarity in San Francisco
Greenpeace activists and campaigners from decades past gathered with current crew, campaigners and board members on the Rainbow Warrior in San Francisco. The event is held to show appreciation and recognition of past campaigns and to call for the freedom of the Arctic 30. The Arctic 30, the 28-member crew of the Arctic Sunrise and two independent journalists have been held in Russian prisons since they were seized in international waters Sept. 19, 2013, a day after a peaceful protest at a Gazprom oil platform drilling for oil in the Arctic.
