100,000 People Support a Green Recovery in Russia
A Greenpeace Russia activist holds a sign reading in Russian “100,000 Russians for green recovery”.
In the background the White House in Moscow, the House of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Greenpeace Russia sends more than 100,000 petition signatures to the Russian government, calling for a green recovery after the coronavirus COVID-19 crisis.
Terrible accidents like the diesel spill in Norilsk in June 2020 will continue to happen as long as the Russian government bails out dirty l businesses, while corporations exploit nature. Russia needs a green recovery plan based on climate-friendly solutions and strict environmental regulation, which will prevent such catastrophes in the future and help Russia get on board of a real low-carbon economic development.
