Action against Supertrawler Carolien in IJmuiden

Greenpeace and Novib protest at the inauguration of the supertrawler Carolien in IJmuiden. They are against the alleged overfishing of waters around West Africa and the alleged violation by the Netherlands of European Union rules on fishing capacity. Overfishing is devastating for the marine environment and it is hard for local fishermen to compete with the supertrawlers which dominate their oceans. The competition means less fish and less money for the people of West Africa.
