Globoil is the premier international conference & exhibition on vegetable oil, feed & feed ingredients, oilseeds & related industries. Greenpeace activists dressed as orangutans display banners reading " 'Is Your Brand Linked to Rainforest Destruction?" and hand out leaflets on the palm oil story. The participating delegates were reminded that they should not purchase palm oil linked to the rainforest destruction. India is now the world's largest importer of palm oil, most of it from Indonesia, where expanding palm plantations have caused widespread forest destruction, impacting endangered species like the orangutan and the Sumatran tiger. Greenpeace has been calling on the companies to source their palm oil imports from sustainable sources.
