Action at the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Global Summit in Vancouver, Canada
Greenpeace Canada activists peacefully demonstrated at the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) Global Summit in Vancouver, Canada. The two climbers dropped from the ceiling of the Vancouver Convention Center holding a banner that read "Still Destroying Forests" with the logos of some of the companies that committed, in 2010, to get deforestation out of their products by 2020.
The action took place in the same week that Greenpeace International released a report which showed that at least 50 million hectares of forest – an area the size of Spain – is set to be destroyed for commodities during the 10 years of corporate commitments to end deforestation.
