The liberal PM had some worrying statements last week about the case, leaving open the option of withdrawal of the file. Our PM stands in an illustrious lineage of golden PMs that, over time, stood in favor of the cyanide based gold harvest, in spite of local communities` and national opposition, in spite of the Roman mining heritage, in spite of the environmental impacts and in spite of the valuable cultural landscape of the site. On July 24, UNESCO will discuss the Roșia Montană file for the second time, after the Romanian Government having requested a postponement of any decision last year.
