The activists are calling for Sweden's Prime minister Stefan Löfven to deny Preem's application to expand the oil refinery and are carrying banners with the messages ”Paris or Preem” and “People vs. Oil”. If the Swedish government grants Preem permission to expand, it would increase the CO2 emissions from Preemraff by one million tonnes per year and make the refinery the single biggest source of CO2 in the country. An expansion of Preemraff would be incompatible with Sweden reaching its national emissions targets and its commitments under the Paris agreement.Locations:Nordic Countries-Scandinavia-SwedenDate:10 Sep, 2020Credit:© Johanna Hanno / GreenpeaceMaximum size:4320px X 2880pxKeywords:Actions and protests-Banners-Climate (campaign title)-Day-Eye contact-Greenpeace activists-Greenpeace staff-Half length-KWCI (GPI)-MY Rainbow Warrior III-Non-violent direct actions-Oceans (campaign title)-Oil refineries-One person-Outdoors-Portraits-WomenShoot:Activists Block Crude Oil Tanker Heading to Preem's Refinery in Lysekil, SwedenActivists from Greenpeace Nordic block a crude oil tanker from approaching and unloading its cargo to Preem's oil refinery in Lysekil.
