This area is close to lake Kiltjärnen and a nature reserve in Västernorrland. This area has been partly clearcut, despite being located in a High Value Forest Landscape, which means the area has been identified by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency as having particularly high ecological preservation values. The area was logged at the time of the field visit. At the edges of the area indicator species were identified, of which some has the ‘near threatened’ status on the Red List of Swedish Species.Locations:Europe-Nordic Countries-Sweden-Västernorrland CountyDate:5 Jul, 2017Credit:© Jari Stahl / GreenpeaceLatitude:62°33'45.14"NMaximum size:3840px X 2160pxLongitude15°29'51.97"EKeywords:Aerial view-Boreal forests-Clearcutting-Day-Forests (campaign title)-Forests (topography)-Great Northern Forest (campaign title)-KWCI (GPI)-Outdoors-TreesShoot:Forest Documentation near Lake Kiltjärnen in SwedenGreenpeace is conducting forest inventories and documenting forestry activities in the Swedish part of the Great Northern Forest, close to lake Kiltjärnen in Västernorrland. This area has been partly clearcut, despite being located in a High Value Forest Landscape, which means the area has been identified by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency as having particularly high ecological preservation values. The area was logged at the time of the field visit.
