A costa do estado do Amapá, no extremo norte do Brasil, está na mira da indústria petrolífera internacional. O local congrega biomas variados, como mangues e florestas tropicais, e um importante bioma ainda pouco conhecido pela ciência, o Recife de Corais da Foz do Amazonas, recém descoberto e já ameaçado pela exploração de petróleo.
