Weasel family
American Mink in Canadian Boreal Forest
American mink (Neovison vison).
These nocturnal carnivores split their time between the land and the water. They produce a smelly spray that has been described as more unbearable than that of skunks. They use this spray as self defence against predators such as humans, birds of prey, lynx and coyotes. These solitary, territorial creatures can be found across North America.
