Beauty & Landscapes in the Cerrado Biome, Brazil - Clipreel
Clipreel shot between August 2017 and June 2018, showing the richness of nature of the Cerrado ecoregion.
The Cerrado is the second largest biome in Brazil, occupying 22% of the national territory. Despite being the most biodiverse savannah in the world, more than half of its area has already been destroyed, due to the reckless advance of an agriculture model aimed to produce commodities, such as soy and corn, for export.

O Cerrado é o segundo maior bioma do Brasil, ocupa 22% do território nacional. Apesar de ser savana mais biodiversa do mundo, mais da metade de sua área já foi desmatada, graças ao avanço de um modelo agrícola desvatador que visa a produção de commodities, como soja e milho, para exportação.

"Hold the Line" Report Expedition in the Cerrado Ecoregion, Brazil - Photos & Videos by F. Ligabue
The region between the states of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia, known as MATOPIBA in Brazil., is considered the showcase of Brazilian agribusiness, with a high productions of soy and corn for export. However, this predatory model has rushed deforestation in the biome’s region, Cerrado, which is one of the most threatened ecoregion in Brazil and extremely important for the supply of aquifers throughout Latin America. The agribusiness expansion puts traditional communities and natural resources at risk.
