Aerial view on the organic farm of climate plaintiffs Silke and Joerg Backsen on North Sea island Pellworm. Together with two other families impacted by the global warming and with Greenpeace e.V., they are taking legal steps for effective climate protection and file a complaint against the German government with the Berlin Administrative Court. The Backsen family operates an organic farm and is directly affected by impacts of global warming. Most parts of the island are one meter below sea level. If sea levels rise, the existing dikes could soon no longer be sufficient to protect the island.

Familie Backsen ist direkt betroffen von den Folgen der Erderwaermung. Steigt der Meeresspiegel, koennten vorhandene Deiche bald nicht mehr ausreichen, um die Insel zu schuetzen.
