Corn Field in Brandenburg in Germany
Corn field at the organic farm of climate plaintiffs family Lütke Schwienhorst in Brandenburg. Together with two other families impacted by the global warming and with Greenpeace e.V., they are taking legal steps for effective climate protection and file a complaint against the German government with the Berlin Administrative Court. The estate of the Schwienhorst family exists since the 18th century. Around 120 dairy cows of the endangered domestic animal breed "Deutsches Schwarzbuntes Niederungsrind" (German Black Pied cattle) are milking here. Extreme weather events such as heatwaves hit the farm hard.

Klimaklaeger in Brandenburg in Deutschland
Maisfeld auf dem Biohof der
Klimaklaeger Familie Lütke Schwienhorst in Brandenburg.

Climate Plaintiffs in Germany
Climate plaintiffs in Germany. Three families impacted by global warming, and also Greenpeace e.V. are taking legal steps for effective climate protection and file a complaint against the German government with the Berlin Administrative Court. The basis of the complaint: The Federal Government violates fundamental rights, if it does not take additional measures to achieve the German climate target for the year 2020. By failing to meet this target the Federal Government is furthermore violating European environmental law. As an environmental organisation, Greenpeace Germany is therefore suing for compliance with German and European environmental law.
