The carbon dioxide being generated in the production process is even more than burning natural gas. Hyundai should face the fact that gray hydrogen and fuel-cell cars' low energy efficiency are not better alternatives. The company should concentrate its time and investment to end the reliance on fossil fuel.Locations:Asia-Han River (Korea)-Republic of Korea-SeoulDate:8 Sep, 2021Credit:© Sungwoo Lee / GreenpeaceMaximum size:8256px X 5504pxKeywords:Actions and protests-Animal likeness-Automotive industry-Balloons-Banners-Cars-Climate (campaign title)-Day-Hyundai-KWCI (GPI)-Landscapes-Non-violent direct actions-Outdoors-Rivers-SnailsShoot:DriveChange Team’s Hyundai Snail Balloon Banner in Seoul - PhotosOn September the 8th Greenpeace Korea's DriveChange team flew a 10m snail shaped balloon on the Han river in Seoul to pressure Hyundai to move up the timeline to phase out ICEV (Internal combustion engine) production and sales to 2030 and discontinue inefficient hydrogen car projects.Hyundai Motor Company has announced the 2035~2040 ICE phase-out date only in certain markets (US, EU, China, Korea) and concentrating on developing hydrogen fuel cell cars regardless of the fact that 95% of hydrogen fuel comes from fossil fuel.
