GE Soya in Argentina - English Version
Argentinian ancient forestland is under threat from industrial agriculturists who are destroying huge areas of forest to convert the land into soya plantations to make animal feed. The effect on the local communities is extensive, forests are being fenced off by soya companies depriving the local people from using them for their livelihood leading to poverty, degradation and unemployment as the millions of dollars made by the soya landowners and exporters does not come back into the region. Greenpeace is calling for an immediate moratorium on forest clearance for industrial agriculture throughout South America.
