Greenpeace India's Vertical Garden Named Garden City 2.0.
For 50 days, 3000 pots from homemade compost and organic seeds was used for the vertical garden highlighting the link between urban waste segregation and ecological farming. Garden City 2.0, a 30x30 feet vertical garden installation with 3000 pots.
Shivani Shah, Senior Campaigner of Food For Life, Greenpeace India says “The aim of the activity is to create awareness about segregation and composting. The first step to do so is to segregate the waste, compost the wet waste and once waste is segregated and composted, it can be provided to farmers as organic fertilizers.This will ultimately ensure that the food we consume has reduced usage of chemicals.”

Garden City 2.0: Greenpeace India Installs Vertical Garden in Bangalore City
In a bid to reclaim the title of Garden City, Greenpeace India invited citizens of Bangalore to the launch of the vertical garden named Garden City 2.0. The 30 ft x30 ft vertical garden is installed at Phoenix Market City in Whitefield. Across Bangalore, citizens were invited to sow the seeds of saplings that were placed in the structure and have their names labeled on the pot and watch its growth for eight weeks after which the plant will be awarded back to their deserving owners.
