The Federal Government relies on the so-called "cosmetic dialogue", a voluntary commitment by manufacturers to get rid of microplastics by 2020. Because the German Minister of the Environment, Barbara Hendricks (SPD) allows the manufacturers decide themselves which plastics they want to use in their products so the agreement actually is insufficient. With a manufacturer check, Greenpeace demonstrated that all German producers continue to use plastics, but are free to call themselves "microplastic-free".Related Collections:Group Action Day Against Plastics in Cosmetics in Germany (Berlin & Essen)
