Hurricane Sandy Aftermath in NYC
Residents of New York City suffer from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Greenpeace solar truck Rolling Sunlight supplies power to charge cell phones in Far Rockaway in Queens for residents still without power. Volunteers also distribute donated food and supplies in the area hard hit by the massive storm. Hurricane Sandy is an example of the extreme weather symptomatic of continued climate change, as storms continue to become more frequent and more severe. Storms like Hurricane Sandy will increasingly compromise our safety and economic security if governments don’t address emissions and climate policy.
