People vs Oil Tour in the Pacific Coast of Canada
An unprecedented journey starts on the shores of Vancouver, British-Columbia, Canada. For the first time ever, six people from as many First Nations set sail on board the Greenpeace ship MY Esperanza to Haida Gwaii, to help connect coastal communities opposing pipelines and super tankers to the seven-million-strong global movement against Arctic oil drilling.
After Haida Gwaii, the journey continues in the Pacific Ocean where the indigenous activists together with Greenpeace swimmers from the MY Esperanza take action against Shell’s oil rig, the Polar Pioneer, with banners reading “People Vs Oil”, as part of the global movement #PeopleVsOil determined to protect and Save The Arctic.
