In one location near the Nyaru Menteng Orangutan Sanctuary west of Palangkaraya, Greenpeace found burned peatland and forest remains, planted with oil palm seedlings. The most recent public maps, several years old, do not indicate any oil palm concession has been granted there. Unless government ensures that all company land tenure is available for public scrutiny, those profiting from fires cannot be held accountable.Related Collections:Forest Fires and Oil Palm in Central Kalimantan (Photos & Videos)
