PFC-free Expedition in China - Web Video- (International version)
On 18th to 22nd January, three outdoor key opinion leaders from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China traveled to Sichuan under extreme weather conditions, heavy snow, heavy wind and minus 20 degree Celsius, and successfully reached the summit of the Four Sisters Mountain (5025m), while using PFC-free clothing and backpacks.
The activity, organised by Greenpeace East Asia, proves that PFC-free clothing function perfectly and keep the mountaineers safe in extreme weather conditions.
PFCs, dangerous to human health and the environment, have been found in the products of leading outdoor brands such as The North Face and Mammut, and must be phased out as soon as possible, alternatives are available and there is no excuse to keep using PFCs in the manufacture of waterproof clothing and backpacks.
