Chinese herbal products are trusted and used as food ingredients for healing purposes in soups, stir fries and teas by millions of people around the world. However the Greenpeace investigation has revealed that these herbs are covered in pesticide residue considered illegal in China and highly hazardous by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The findings are just another example of the failure of chemicals based industrial agriculture to deliver healthy foods for people.
