Petition Delivery at Polish Prime Minister in Warsaw
Greenpeace volunteers hand over 120,000 signatures from the “kochampuszcze.pl” petition to the Polish Prime Minister office.
Already 120,000 Poles declared their support for the protection of the entire Białowieża Forest in Poland: the last European lowland natural forest and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its unique ecosystem and ecological processes have to be protected from destruction by human intervention. The scientific community agrees that preservation of this unique forest has to exclude standard forestry practices, such as sanitation cutting down and salvage logging as a response to bark beetle outbreaks.
