Polar bears cannot survive without sea ice, using it to raise their young, to travel and as a platform for hunting seals - their primary food source. This bear appeared to be in healthy condition, however the species is threatened with extinction because climate change is causing its sea ice habitat to melt away rapidly.Locations:Kane Basin-North America-Western GreenlandDate:2 Aug, 2009Credit:© GreenpeaceDuration:2m28sAudio format:NaturalProduction Type :B-ROLLKeywords:Beauty-Climate (campaign title)-Climate change impacts-Glacier melt-Ice-KWCI (GPI)-Outdoors-Polar bears-Save the Arctic (campaign title)Shoot:Arctic TourIn summer 2009, the MY Arctic Sunrise travels to the Arctic to to document the impacts of climate change on Greenland's polar environment.Related Collections:Arctic Tour 2009 (Photo & Videos)
