Report Launch in New Zealand

Greenpeace NZ Climate Campaigner Simon Boxer at the launch of two Greenpeace energy reports during the new Rainbow Warrior's visit to Wellington. Simon is one of the report authors. The reports titled 'The Future is Here' and 'Energy Revolution' detail how the NZ energy sector could give the economy a multi-billion dollar boost and create tens of thousands of new jobs.

The Rainbow Warrior in New Zealand

The new Rainbow Warrior, on her first journey to New Zealand, visits Matauri Bay, the resting place of the original Rainbow Warrior, which was bombed by French secret service agents in Auckland in 1985. The shoot include images of a festival run by local iwi Te Whanau a Apanui (Maori tribe) celebrating the withdrawal oil giant Petrobras which had planned to drill for deep sea oil. A united front of protest action took place in the Raukumara Basin in 2011 that disrupted deep sea oil surveys.
