Seeds on an Ecological Farm in Bulgaria
Albena Simeonova is an organic farmer and one of the founders of the Bulgarian Organic Products Association. Her farm comprises of 250 ha of land, located in Northern Bulgaria – she cultivates cereals such as sunflower, wheat, barley, alfalfa; she also has vineyards, animals and vegetables. According to Albena, “Monocultures destroy the humus layer of the soil and ruin the land. There needs to be more diversification of the crops, which brings more biodiversity on the field.”
