Senator Obama Secondary School in Kenya
School Principle Yuanita Obiero at the Senator Obama Secondary School, established in 1980.
Mrs Obiero welcomed Senator Barack Obama at the school in 2006 and he subsequently agreed to allow his name to be connected to the school, writing a personal letter to Mrs Obiero, that said: " I am honored that you and the Kogelo community have decided to rename the Kogelo school in my name. The land that the school stands was donated by my grandparents, and thus I am proud to carry on the tradition of supporting the school".

Solar Panels Installation in Kenya
A team composed by Greenpeace's Solar Generation members, participants of the Kibera Community Youth Programme and community members of Nyang'oma Kogelo, carry out a series of workshops on solar panels installation in several villages in Kenya. As part of the programme a solar power system is installed at the house of Mama Sara Obama, the US President's grandmother.
