Weather Oil near Marshes Six Months Later
Ribbons of weathered oil sit on the surface of the water in West Bay near the mouth of the Mississippi River off the coast of Louisiana. Nearly six-months after the British Petroleum Deepwater Horizon disaster and just days after the Coast Guard admiral in charge of the oil spill clean up declared little recoverable surface oil remained, these mile long strings of weathered oil floated toward fragile marshes on the river delta.
