Yellow Card Action on Fishery Reform in Taiwan - News Access

Greenpeace activists deliver a 2.6 m high yellow card held by a statue of an hand to the presidential campaign headquarters (of both the two main political parties of Taiwan, Democratic Progressive Party/DPP and Chinese Nationalist Party/KMT) to ask support on the fishery reform and the establishment of a policy for sustainable fisheries.

The gift delivering action aims to increase the visibility and debate on the Taiwan fishery reform. In the past couple weeks, Greenpeace has been communicating and highlighting Taiwan fishery problems with both parties in an informal way.

After both political parties have shown positive feedback during the discussions on the proposed reform, now Greenpeace asks to bring the negotiations on the table.
In the next coming months, Greenpeace will also use their public and positive responses on the fishery reform to further enhance coming up lobby work with their legislators for the revision of the fishery law and facilitate the establishment of a high level fishery policy.
