White House Photo Op on Post Election in DC
A place in the eight foot tall barricade fence is left clear of signs so people can see the White House. The barricade circles the entire White House Complex including Lafayette Square and the Ellipse, both of which are usually open to the public.
The day after the US general election things around the White House remain quiet and secure as the wait for an official count comes in to decide the next President. In every U.S. presidential election, officials normally take several days to process provisional and mail-in ballots. The counting of additional ballots is no surprise.
