Hong Kong social activist and columnist Fredrick Lam and Shen Xiaoning from Greenpeace East Asia work from the lounge of the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise. An international crew is currently on a month-long expedition in the icy Arctic. Greenpeace is campaigning for a global sanctuary to be declared around the uninhabited area of the North Pole.

'Save the Arctic' Motley Crew Tour

Carrying an international crew from every habitable continent including Girl Guides, Chinese celebrities, filmmakers, activists and Cambridge University scientists, the Greenpeace ship Arctic Sunrise will embark on a month-long expedition in the icy Arctic as part of the environment group’s new campaign to save the pristine region from industrial development, including offshore drilling and overfishing. The ship begins by launching from Svalbard, Norway, 78 degrees north of the equator. Greenpeace is campaigning for a global sanctuary to be declared around the uninhabited area of the North Pole.
