Wings of Emergency Project in Brazil
With the Wings of Emergency (Asas da Emergência, in Portuguese), Greenpeace is providing emergency help to indigenous people to reduce the impact of coronavirus. The environmental organization is sending health professionals and equipment to areas where logistics are permanent challenges for the healthcare system. On May 12th, Greenpeace donated and transported supplies for health workers to Tapajós and Jacareacanga Indigenous Healthcare Special District (Dsei), in Pará state. They were: 400 SH-NK11 surgical masks and 2,000 pairs of surgical gloves. And, after a careful decontamination process carried out by Dsei, 30 soap boxes and 5,000 fabric masks were also sent to the Munduruku people near Jacareacanga. The masks were made by Greenpeace activists and staff.
