With a 2.5-meter yellow X, the symbol of lignite resistance, Greenpeace activists protest in front of the state chancellery in Düsseldorf against the lignite plans of Minister President Armin Laschet (CDU). Supported by 57,974 signatures, the climate activists are demanding that Laschet stop the planned expansion of RWE's Garzweiler II opencast lignite mine and thus the destruction of more villages.
