Protest against State Aid to the Oil, Gas and Coal Industry in Germany
Greenpeace activists protest in Cologne (Germany) in front of the Shell Rheinland refinery against state corona aid for the oil, gas and coal industry in Europe. With a four-metre-high dinosaur made from old oil barrels, climate protection activists are calling for "SHELL: KEIN GELD FUER GESTERN" (Shell: No money for yesterday) and "SHELL: KLIMASCHUTZ JETZT ODER MACHT DICHT" (Shell: Climate protection now or close down) on banners. An analysis by Greenpeace shows which corona measures serve companies in the fossil energy sector: these include tax breaks, reductions in excise duties on fossil fuels and changes to the legal framework.
