Greenpeace activists demonstrate against air pollution holding a sizeable “Clean Air” banner on Budapest’s picturesque Danube embankment, closed to car traffic for summer weekends. The car-free scheme was introduced by city officials to integrate the river back into city life. Greenpeace demands Budapest city officials and the Hungarian government to permanently implement and further develop the positive measures they introduced during the coronavirus emergency, helping people to switch from using cars to using bikes. These measures contributed to a lower noise- and air pollution citywide.
